Letter to My Younger Self

Letter to Young Stud Matt
Sunscreen is important and so is avoiding the sun in general. It would have been great if my people taught me to stretch and drink water every day like I do now.
Don’t pick at your scabs!
Don’t pic your nose!
Study harder and quit chasing at girls so much!
God what I would give to be able to bend like Gumby again!
If you want to be a parent, get serious and do it early in life!
– Matt T.

A Letter to Little Laura
“Appreciate the time you have with the ones who care about you most. I don’t want to make you sad, but they won’t be around forever and it’ll be too late one day to start appreciating them. Tell mom and dad, and brother and sister how much you love and care for them. Tell mom how much you appreciate everything she does to support and maintain the family. Find admirable qualities in each one and let ‘em have it!”
– Laura Smith

Dear Kid Self
Everything will be okay at the end of the day and you will reach adulthood. You will be well adjusted and mature. Everything may seem so chaotic, but alas, it’s all working itself out. So don’t sweat the small stuff! You will be ok.

Dear John
Hang in there. Take it a day at a time. Just know that you will be successful and you’ll love you for you. You didn’t make compromises. You remained true to who you were and people who appreciate your being entered your life. Now you are surrounded by caring, understanding individuals every day who know and love the real you. Just take it slow and do your best. That’s all you can really do!
